Out of Your Comfort Zone
Competition Entries
Here are the entries for the competition. As you can see from the comments below each painting, it was a challenge for most of us to use a medium that was out of our comfort zone. Despite this, successful art work was produced from all who entered. Look out for an email from Glenda about how to vote.

Quote for the week
Let`s go to London
This month we're off to London where we will look at paintings in three of the galleries there. We will take a virtual tour of the Courtauld Gallery where famous masterpieces are housed. Look especially at the Impressionists' paintings on the 6th floor. We then visit the Old Royal Naval College to view the stunning, ornate interiors as well as the art work on display. The Tate Britain is our next stop where we look at British art and learn about the painter, Richard Hamilton.

Richard Hamilton 1922- 2011
Richard Hamilton was an English painter and collage artist. He is considered as one of the first artists to produce pop art. Richard left school with no qualifications but began taking painting classes at St Martin's School of Art. After the war, he attended the Slade School of Art for two years. He taught at the Royal College of Art where he mentored Peter Blake and David Hockney. After being introduced to Paul McCartney, he produced the cover art for the White Album. Printmaking and computer art were his main interest in later years.

Drive In Van Gogh's experience
During the pandemic when museums and art galleries were closed and social distancing introduced, it became impossible for the public to view artworks. A gallery in Toronto had a brainwave. Why not have 360 degrees paintings displayed on the walls and have people drive their cars through the gallery? Watch the following video from the BBC to see how it was done.
