Boats using Mixed Media
Lesley graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1988, specialising in drawing and painting. She says she has a real connection with the landscape and expresses this through bold brushwork and a rich sense of colour. Wherever possible, Lesley works directly from nature, capturing the ever changing elements unique to a Scottish landscape. Using a large brush, Lesley paints orange colour at the top of the canvas as a base for the sea.
Torn pieces of orange tissue paper are stuck down with diluted PVA.
More paint and tissue are applied.
Using blue paint, the sea area is further developed
The interior of the boat is detailed with a smaller brush.
More paint and tissue is applied to the boat and sea area.
